Ethics

Our diamond suppliers must adhere to the Kimberley Process Certification System. This is a process that requires countries that export diamonds to ship them in tamper-proof containers along with certificates guaranteeing that the packages are free of conflict diamonds. Countries receiving shipments must also certify that they have not been tampered with.

Our colored gem suppliers have extensive protocols that include environmentally responsible practices and fair labor practices at the mines as well as the cutting factories with a tight chain of custody (www.fairtradegems.com).

The precious metals used in our designs are purchased from a company that deals in precious metals obtained from a majority of recycled sources. These metals are recycled from scrap/old jewelry, dental, optical, photo and similar sources (www.hooverandstrong.com).

As a member of Jewelers of America we adhere to a code of ethics addressing the social, ethical and environmental aspects of the jewelry industry (http://www.jewelers.org/about/j_whatwestandfor/).
